Supervision and Consultation with Nidhi

My teaching  and supervising philosophy reflect the values of progressivism that states that individuality, progress, and change are fundamental to one’s education. I believe in application of learning and feedback as integral in developing one’s identity as a counselor. As a supervisor, I invite my colleagues, peers, and supervisee's to maintain an open and honest relationship. I believe in the individual diverse experience of each clinician and what they bring to the profession as they learn to mold their professional practice and identity. 

I teach through examples and metaphors of both things to do and not to do. When clinicians and supervisee's can observe counseling skills in practice, it can be helpful to navigate their preference or how they would approach it. As an supervisor and future educator, I believe that I learn from my students and peers through their journey. Each student brings their unique experience and perspective to the clinical counseling world that can add to the development of their peers and professionals. 

I believe in questions and creating a safe space for students to engage in active exploration in a professional environment. I invite students to ask any questions and engage in active discussion.
